When a person comes to the convention meetings on the designated date, they must choose to attend the Pinecone or the Sagebrush party meetings.

Once in a meeting, the attendees cannot switch meetings. Neither party represents Democrats or Republicans.

There is no division based on where the person lives in the City.

Each party concludes its meeting when they have decided who will receive their party's nomination.

Party by-laws are followed to ensure that a fair and correct selection process is followed.
